Our Commitment
We want everyone — riders, family members, caregivers, discharge planners, and facility staff — to be able to use www.nexusviprides.com independently, whether you use a screen reader, screen magnifier, keyboard only, voice control, or other assistive technology.
We follow the principles of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, and Section 1557 of the Affordable Care Act as a recipient of federal financial assistance, and we aim to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) across the site.
Measures We Take
- Semantic HTML & landmarks — proper headings, lists,
header, nav, main, andfooterlandmarks, andskip to main contentlink on every page - Keyboard accessibility — all interactive elements are reachable and operable by keyboard, with visible focus indicators (3px gold outline, 2px offset)
- Screen reader support — meaningful alt text, ARIA labels where needed, live regions for form success/errors, and dialog roles with focus trapping
- Color & contrast — text meets WCAG AA contrast ratios (4.5:1 for normal text). High-contrast mode available via the Accessibility toolbar
- Resizable text — text can be enlarged to 200% without loss of content; toolbar offers one-click larger text
- Motion — animations honor
prefers-reduced-motionand can be paused via the toolbar - Forms — every input has an associated
<label>,autocompletewhere appropriate,aria-required/aria-invalid, inline error messages withrole="alert", and confirmation messages announced viaaria-live - Alternative access — any service you can request online can be requested by phone at (843) 457-1060
Accessibility Toolbar
Use the floating Accessibility button (bottom-left on every page) to:
- Increase text size
- Enable high-contrast mode
- Underline all links
- Switch to a dyslexia-friendly font
- Reduce motion / pause animations
Your choices are saved on this device and remembered on your next visit. Press Tab to navigate to the toolbar by keyboard, or press Escape to close it. Reset at any time.
The toolbar itself is keyboard-accessible, uses role="dialog" and aria-live announcements, and traps focus while open.
